Mobile heuristic review

Whilst their ecommerce platform was responsive Hayes and Jarvis knew that it had played a serious second fiddle in the development of the platform. We were asked to identify the biggest problem areas using heuristics.

What we did

Working through the key pages and scoring as we went using a standardised set of measures around human factors, performance, navigation, task completion and optimised content allowed us to benchmark against competitors and best of class websites.

Key recommendations were   fed back to the e-commerce teams for prioritisation.

Results

With search optimisation being particularly poor it was decided to begin the optimisation process around search and the homepage. Working collaboratively with the delivery team we identified improvements we could make incrementally.

Screens were designed and a prototype was created to help the development team visualise the changes before being completed during a development sprint.
